Isn't it interesting that we're always telling people that God can do anything, but we keep trying to connect all of the dots ourselves?
I'll be the first to admit I've done that before, but I will also be the first to admit that I screwed up. Big time.
It's because we don't know what's in the future, so we can't see all the dots. And some dots that look great are actually not-so-great. And from our perspective, we may think we're connecting "66" to "67", when we may very well be connecting "67" to "99", missing all the growth, experience, and relationships we're supposed to have in between.
Not only does God know what dots to connect, but His timing is impeccable, and I really do mean that.
I was fresh out of college without a job, and through little dots I hadn't thought were important, God just started dropping opportunities into my lap. Now I'm doing what I love nearly full time, and I'm able to give the glory to Him, which is really what it's all about.
That's not to say we shouldn't be doing anything: God doesn't direct something that's not moving. But we should be walking in God's footsteps, not running around trying to find the road.
It's not always fun, but I promise you it's always worth it.
